The Canon Pixma MG7720 prints equally impressive-quality files and photographs, thanks to a print resolution of 9600 x 2400 dots per inch. It generates high-quality files, without apparent defects, but in slower rates than many.
Where the Pixma actually stands out is picture printing, as it created a number of the best-quality photographs in our inspection. Routine 4 x 6 photos printed off at a reasonable 1.5 photographs each week. Because the Pixma utilizes a special secondary cartridge of pigment black ink -- a sort of ink better suited to photo printing -- the photographs snapped out with sharp images and vibrant colors.
Having a five-cartridge method, the total cost of ink for your Pixma is somewhat higher than rivals that just use four capsules, such as the HP Officejet Pro, but the average per-page price comes out into some still-reasonable 18 pennies. The printer uses two unique kinds of black ink: one for documents and one for photographs; this produces superior photo prints and doesn't leave you empty when printing gruesome documents. If print quality is a priority, especially for photos, paying a little more for greater prints could be rewarding. Canon also provides high-capacity ink alternatives for many five cartridges, which decreases the price per page to 15 pennies.
Designed for home use, the Pixma includes one main paper tray using a 125-sheet capability. A secondary arrow, employed mainly for photo newspaper or on-off printing, holds an additional 20 pages. It is not intended to compete with office printers that could run off 100 pages a day, however the paper tray is a bit larger than the 100-page typical of most printers.
The Pixma MG7720 could print excellent photos and files, but it's lacking a few features which you expect to locate in an all-in-one printer. While it does scan and copy with a flatbed scanner, there is not an automatic document feeder for copying multiple pages, and there's no integrated fax. A facsimile machine is not a must-have attribute for many home users, however you'd expect a top-rated all-in-one printer to include one. Should you need to fax a couple of pages now and then, you can probably make do with just the scanner along with a totally free online fax service, but frequent faxing may be a real headache.
However, it does not have a USB interface. Because of this, you can't publish out of a flash drive or external hard drive without going through your notebook or desktop personal computer.
Storage issues aside, since the Pixma is a wireless all-in-one printer, you have a lot of options for connecting all of your other apparatus. Wired and wireless network are available, together with Wi-Fi Direct allowing you connect to the printer without having to experience the router. Smartphones and tablets can connect via Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Printing and Mopria-certified apps, matching the ideal Wi-Fi printers. Canon also includes its own app called Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY. The program lets you print from your telephone or tablet computer, in addition to scan, copy and handle documents through Canon's personal cloud storage service. Printing from cameras can also be easy using Wireless PictBridge support.
The Canon Pixma MG7720 is coated with a conventional one-year warranty. Support needs are satisfied through telephone and email contact, but the Canon website does not have live chat service, and there aren't any social networking support channels. There are, nevertheless, several support materials available online, such as a searchable guide, answers to frequently asked questions and a troubleshooting guide. If everything else fails, there will also be dedicated service forums where you can ask questions and get responses from fellow and employees clients. When it comes to print quality, the Canon Pixma MG7720 is still among the best inkjet printers you may buy.
