As I'm writing this specific review, my mind continues to be blown just thinking about what I have seen: A eco-solvent printer which can harness incredible speed (up to 550 square-feet per hour) along with quality when using only a dual CMYK ink collection. Further than this, I have never seen a printer that can print two-pass or four-pass manners without a single ounce of banding during a full-color graphic... till today.
So now that I have wet your whistle a bit on some of the juicy information, I can underline for you what the fine people at Epson have completed to bring a new revolutionary printer into the outdoor printing business, specifically the SureColor S60600.
Let us start out with the things they brought back in the preceding S-series printers... next to nothing. This is literally a ground up rebuild by the take-up reel and also stand to the new filtration unit around top of the printer, and everything in between. For the interest of organized reading we will begin at the ground level with the stand alone.
The integrity of this print may rely greatly on how hardy the printer is whether it is in fact laying down several droplet sizes of ink and using quite intricate screening algorithms. That's nerd talk for explaining how equilibrium impacts print quality.
Much like an automobile chassis, stability comes in strong metal and reinforcement, which is precisely what Epson has performed with their base and take-up unit. In actuality, it's just like a recurrent mantra throughout:"Where there was plasticlet there be metal"
Extremely accurate unattended printing is a major upgrade with the new Epson SureColor S60600. Even the take-up reel has been restructured, too. I can attest that this is actually the ideal take-up platform in the business today as far as maintaining the material straight as it's being taken up. Not to mention loading it's a breeze. You may also load it on the fly as it's printing so you do not have to waste the first 6 feet of substance to make it to the take-up.

There is an entirely new internal pinch roller method (the wheels on top of the media which hold it down into the platen). The new machine has pressure all of the way throughout the substance, that is a major improvement from the prior generation.
We've had our unit in-house for nearly a month and we have run everything out of canvas, fabrics, picture papers, vinyl, adhesive vinyl and backlit, to list a few, also haven't needed to throw a single print away due to head attack. There are also three stages of pressure that are adjustable for how much strain that the pinch rollers are applying to the material. This prevents any prospect of impressions or roller marks.
Together with the new Precision Core TFP printing heads in their most recent release partnered with the new GS3 ink formulation, wiper unit along with air filtration system, Epson has significantly decreased the amount of user maintenance that's needed. Actually, after nearly a month of running and printing about 15 full rolls, 100 and feet each of a variety of fibrous products in addition to the other 10 rolls or a lot of banner and glue vinyl, we've made a 100% return.
In previous versions of its own solvent printers, Epson has advocated a once-a-week manual upkeep. Now that's been pushed back to some once-a-month manual maintenance with its brand new printers. This is an awesome accomplishment, and I believe that the brand new air filtration system includes a lot to do with it.
Inside the printer there's a silent vacuum system which moves the air through two filters (user replaceable) at the peak of the machine. This filtration system removes ink and dust particles from interfering with all the nozzles. I can visually see a difference when studying the printing head this new strategy is performing its job. Normally after running 15 rolls of fibrous materials, like canvas, on past Epson versions, you would observe some contaminants of cotton fibers or dust visible on the actual print head. When carefully examining the new heads, I noticed that the inks living on the printing heads were quite tidy and particle-free.
At the heart of rebuilding its own solvent printers, Epson has concentrated on precision imaging, and that surely shows on the last output. Epson incorporates the same print head technology which it is using in the Display Epson P-Series printers. The output, even in the fastest pass modes, goes far beyond a sellable print also boasts the Epson SureColor S60600 since the fastest of these solvent/eco-solvent printers available on the industry.
These reviews are for educational purposes. I write this from the unbiased user standpoint, and I don't get paid to do this by anyone. Though I only realized there wasn't a single mention of anything negative. The fact is that I couldn't find anything negative to write about.
