Epson WorkForce WF-100 Review - Free Download Driver

- April 18, 2019
A mobile inkjet printer aimed toward business professionals, the Epson WorkForce WF-100 ($349.99) provides a variety of connection procedures, usually absent in the cellular inkjets we've reviewed. This, and its lightweight, compact form factor, makes it a really fantastic instrument for road warriors who need to print documents in a pinch, even from smartphones and tablets, as well as laptops.

Design and Features
When closed, the WF-100 measures 2.4 by 12.2 by 6.1 inches (HWD), and it weighs just 3.5 lbs, making it more lightweight and more compact compared to its peers, the most HP Officejet 100 Mobile Printer Best Price at Amazon and also the Canon Pixma iP100 Photo Printer$263.68 at Amazon. The WF-100, glossy and matte black consequently, folds open so that its lid becomes the paper holder for the input , which accpets a mere 20 sheets of paper.

In the front of the paper feeder is a 1.8-inch LCD for navigating the menus with the aid of a four-way rocker change, with a central OK button, located just to the screen's right. These are flanked by the power button (together with the conventional pub ), and a counter button (the icon is a red circle containing a rectangle ). These are this printer sole physical controls.

The printer may be powered either from the included AC wall adapter, or by a built-in rechargeable lithium ion battery. The battery can be charged either from the port, or from a computer on a USB cable once the printer is turned off or in Sleep mode. In any event, completely recharging the battery requires approximately 2.5 hours, and also a charge should be good for printing about 50 color or 100 black-and-white pages, based on Epson.

Connectivity
The WF-100 can connect to your computer through USB 2.0, to your local-area network via 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, or create an immediate peer-to-peer link to your computer or mobile device via Wi-Fi Direct. It supports printing from the Epson iPrint program for iOS or Android, along with Epson Mail Print and Epson Remote Print, both of which enable users to automatically print into the WF-100 by sending it documents via email. Epson offers you the choice of getting the email address assigned to the printer during the setup procedure, which you may later change to a speech more to your liking.

The black cartridge has a rated return of 250 pages; the colour cartridge, 200. This is a smidge greater compared to Canon iP100, together with promised yields of 249 pages because of its color cartridge and 191 pages to get shameful. However, it's substantially short of their HP Officejet 100's claimed 560 pages because of its high-yield color cartridge and 500 pages for black.

Running costs for your WF-100, dependent on Epson's price and yield figures for its capsules, are 8.8 cents per black page and 17.8 cents per color page. This is substantially greater than the Canon iP100 (6.3 and 13.1 cents( respectively) and even more so than the HP Officejet 100 (4.8 along with 11.9 cents). If your requirement for mobile document printing is purely moderate duty, managing costs may not be a substantial factor, however the more you print, the greater the gap in running costs will improve your expenses with the WF-100, in comparison with another two versions.

Printing Speed
I timed the WF-100 for a normal rate of 2.2 pages per minute (ppm), and it's normal for a cellular inkjet. It drops between the HP OfficeJet 100 along with also the Canon iP100, which we clocked at 1.8ppm and 2.5ppm, respectively, on exactly the exact tests.

We measure photo-printing rates for many inkjets, along with the WF-100 averaged a snail-like 4 minutes 40 minutes per 4-by-6 printing. That's more than a minute-and-a-half more than the notably slow 3:08 turned in by the HP Officejet 100. Having said that, the demand for picture printing from a mobile small business inkjet is nominal.

Overall output is a little below average for an inkjet, with marginally minuscule text and graphics, and average photographs. Text quality is great for standard business records, but not for ones like resum├ęs with that you are seeking to earn an extra special impression.

Some of the images in our testing revealed substantial banding (a normal pattern of faint striations). Thin coloured lines against darker backgrounds were almost lost in a few examples.

Most of the test photograph prints were of a quality you could expect from drugstore prints or marginally better, but also our monochrome test photo had a substantial tint, and the other print revealed banding and some discoloration.

As a compact inkjet for businesspeople on the go, the WF-100 is a competent version, especially good at fitting into today's portable, wireless work atmosphere. That said, it has sufficient drawbacks which the other two printers I have discussed here might be better choices for many: the Canon iP100 because of its speed, and the HP Officejet 100 for output quality, running costs, and heartier battery, and both to their 50-sheet newspaper capability. They also both offer Bluetooth, as well as USB. But should you need more connectivity, the Epson WorkForce WF-100's addition of Wi-Fi along with Wi-Fi Direct, along with the capability to print from mobile apps and email could help it become the very best choice as a streamlined, featherweight inkjet.
